The iSkills workshops are focused on teaching the graduate students of the iSchool relevant technical and social networking skills that will aid them as they move forward professionally. My first workshop was developed around an introduction to the Mac OS X iMovie application. An important application to understand as libraries increasingly develop video content. The second workshop focused on ePortfolios and how they are created. My introduction to screencasting for online tutorials helped students to develop the basic techniques and knowledge needed in this blossoming area of library service.
Teaching these workshops reminded me of the joys of teaching and also deepened my knowledge. I truly value the teaching facet of librarianship.
